February is heart month. Heart disease currently affects more than 1.4 million Canadians and is a leading cause of death. In fact, more than 33, 600 Canadians die from heart disease each year. The good news is that many of the key risk factors are lifestyle related and include such things as smoking, a lack of exercise, an unhealthy diet, carrying excess weight and living with a high degree of stress.
