Dr. Katie Malone graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Laurentian University, and decided to continue her studies at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr. Malone has competed at the Provincial and University levels as a point guard in basketball, and continues to participate in organized sport as a way to have fun and stay fit. As clinic owner since 2002, Dr. Malone's focus is to facilitate healing by creating and maintaining a positive environment that patients look forward to returning to.
Dr. Guru Kandasamy has established himself as an integrative health practitioner in Toronto, combining his extensive training as a medical doctor, chiropractor, medical acupuncturist & kinesiologist. As a member of the Physiomed team since 2007, Dr. Guru has gained considerable experience in the development of customized rehabilitation programs for professional & recreational athletes recovering from traumatic injuries, surgeries, strokes & complex neurological/orthopedic conditions. Dr. Guru will work with you and your Physiomed health team to create a health plan specific to your individual goals using a unique blend of conventional & complementary medicine that is patient-centered, safe & evidence-based.
Dr. Jiyeon Kim is a certified chiropractor and acupuncture provider. She holds a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from University of Waterloo, and a Medical Acupuncture Certificate from McMaster University. Dr. Kim’s passion for chiropractic grew with her natural instinct in helping people. She provides individualized, evidence-based, collaborative care to help patients reach their optimal health. Dr. Kim believes in empowering patients by educating them on their health and wellness. She also enjoys playing volleyball, rock climbing, and yoga.
Nayida is an enthusiastic physiotherapist who obtained her physiotherapy degree at the University of Toronto, and is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Nayida has received her Level 1 manual therapy training, as well as Level 1 of both Mulligan and McKenzie therapy techniques. She has been a member of the Physiomed team since 2005 and is dedicated to helping all her clients achieve optimal physical condition.
Quinn graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a BA Honors in Kinesiology and Physical Education; he completed his MSc Physiotherapy with Distinction at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Quinn has experience in treating patients with various types of orthopaedic and sports related injuries ranging from joint sprains, muscle strains, and tendinopathies to rehabilitation for fractures and post-operative procedures. With his strong academic background, clinical experience and continuing education courses, Quinn's treatment philosophy uses manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and patient education to work towards achieving client-centered goals. He is committed to individualized, one-on-one treatment and developing programs that promote his patient's return to work and the activities they enjoy. Quinn is also an avid runner and enjoys strength training, basketball and football.
Venkat Iyer, is a talented Physiotherapist from India recently moved to Canada as a Permanent Resident to pursue his career. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy from Rajiv Gandhi University in India, followed by a Post Graduate Masters Degree in Sports & Exercise Medicine from University of Glasgow U.K. He has put in four years of service with a reputed hospital in India heading their Department of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation before moving over to Canada. He has additional Diploma level qualifications in Acupuncture, Yoga and Nature Cure from Indian institutions. He has undergone special training in KinesioTaping and Manual Therapy. Venkat is awaiting for his registration as Physiotherapist in Canada while working with us as a Physiotherapy Assistant.
Josh initially joined the Physiomed College Park team in 2014 as an active exercise specialist and left to pursue a Masters degree in Physiotherapy at Robert Gordon University in Scotland. While studying abroad, Josh had the valuable experience of treating patients in various settings including orthopaedics, neurology, cardio-respiratory, and community visits. Using an array of treatment methods, Josh is committed in treating every client as individuals with specific needs and goals. Josh also firmly believes in using a holistic approach to his clients' well-being, integrating a healthy mind and body to achieve optimal results. When Josh is not studying for the Canadian physiotherapy competency exams, he keeps an active lifestyle through playing basketball, strength training, and hiking the outdoors!
Back by popular demand! Jaime wants to put a smile on your face and help you realize how easy it is to make exercise enjoyable and life changing. She is a passionate Registered Kinesiologist that graduated from the University of Guelph in Human Kinetics and has achieved a post graduate certificate in Exercise Science and Lifestyle Management. Jaime values the individuality of people and creates programs to cater to every individual's lifestyle and personal goals. She is constantly challenging the norm and looking for new and creative ways to use exercise for overall health and wellness. Regardless of your physical fitness or health status, Jaime's number one goal is to create healthy, efficient, happy bodies.
Edward graduated from Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic (2003). Licensed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and has been a member of the Physiomed team since 2005. His enthusiasm and passion for massage therapy has allowed him to constantly educate himself and therefore, has the personal commitment to grow professionally. Allow him to "Maximize Your Investment in Health"! Whether you need a light or deep tissue massage for relaxation, treatment or sports relevance.
One of the newest additions to the PhysioMed team is Giada, an RMT, Reiki II practitioner and and recent graduate of Sutherland-Chan school of massage therapy. She may be small, but don't let that fool you. She'll fix you, and even some of the problems you didn't know had. Giada came to us as a client, after being hit by a bus in 2014. PhysioMed helped her rehabilitate to be stronger, happier and healthier, and now she wants to give back! So come on over, give her your back!
