Now offering Aqua Therapy – HydroWorx 200!

Physiomed Leaside is proud to announce the addition of our new Aquatic Therapy program featuring the HydroWorx 200 Underwater Treadmill!

Aquatic therapy is a highly effective treatment for those patients whose age, injury or chronic condition prevents full weight-bearing activity. Thanks to the buoyancy of water, which supports the body and allows for low-to-no impact treatment, patients who are unable to participate in traditional, land-based therapy or treatment are now able to get the help they need right here at Physiomed Leaside!

Aquatic Therapy is particularly effective at:

  • reducing pain & inflammation
  • increasing range of motion
  • improving strength & function
  • enhancing overall rehabilitation outcomes

It is especially good for those struggling with or recovering from:

  • arthritis
  • fibromyalgia
  • diabetes
  • osteoporosis
  • back pain
  • joint pain (ankles, knees and hips)
  • a sports injury
  • a motor vehicle accident
  • a stroke or neurological incident
  • some other form of trauma
  • losing weight & increasing fitness

Aquatic Therapy is also excellent for older patients in need of more gentle treatment and/or a way to stay active.

The HydroWorx 200 Underwater Treadmill is a revolutionary, state-of-the-art piece of Aquatic Therapy equipment designed to allow for treatment delivery without the need of a full sized pool. It features:

  • variable water depths
  • therapeutic resistance jets
  • a therapeutic massage hose
  • safety handrails/support bars
  • a variable speed underwater treadmill
