Thornhill is located in the Greater Toronto Area just north of the city of Toronto. It has grown over time as a result of its proximity to the city, and as a result, the demand for high-quality health services has also increased.
Thornhill has an ethnically diverse population, allowing Physiomed to serve individuals from all walks of life and with a variety of health concerns. Our approach to improving health is based on customized treatments that address the root cause of pain or dysfunction. We incorporate a thorough examination and assessment process that lets you identify existing risk factors and helps determine the most effective solutions.
Dr. Majidi's medical background stems from four years at York University followed by four years at New York Chiropractic College (NYCC), where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. He gained valuable experience at NYCC ranging from pediatrics to Graston Technique ® at NYCC Depew Health Centre. Dr. Majidi is a member with good standing in the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) and Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) and is licensed in both Canada and the United States. Dr Majidi’s philosophy is wellness-based and is centered upon improving patients’ quality of life. He specializes in spinal and joint manipulation coupled with various soft tissue techniques to regain optimal function. He is a certified Graston Technique ® practitioner and specializes in Pediatric/Youth Scoliosis Therapy and Lumbar Spine Disc Herniation Traction. He has a passion for sports such as Soccer and Squash and has been a chiropractor for several soccer teams in Ontario.
Maternity Leave Luba graduated from McMaster University Physiotherapy grogram in 2010. Since her graduation she has completed Medical Accupuncture program, which she has been applying successfuly for treatments of various neurological and musculoskeletal problems. She has also completed Manual Therapy program that she has been using as her treatment technique. At this time she is specializing in Mckenzie mechanical diagnosis and treatment program that she uses to treat lower back and neck pain. On her own she leads an active and healthy lifestyle. She is also a Pelvic Floor practitioner, who specializes in pelvic floor dysfunction and urogynecology.
Dr. Lena Ma is a board-certified Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, registered and in good standing with, the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. She graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Life Sciences (Hons) degree as well as a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice). Dr. Ma then received her post-graduate degree in Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She currently runs a family practice dedicated to delivering quality, individualized healthcare to her patients using a combination of modalities including diet and nutritional supplementation, botanical medicine, TCM acupuncture, comprehensive lab testing, and vitamin B12 injections. Dr. Ma has a special interest in the areas of women’s health, endocrinology, digestive concerns, and pain management. Dr. Ma is also certified to provide facial rejuvenation acupuncture, a non-surgical and non-toxic anti-aging technique for a natural face-lift.
Sharon Welsby is a Certified Athletic Therapist who specializes in treating musculoskeletal injuries in all types of athletes. Sharon is a graduate of the combined Master of Science in Kinesiology & Health Science and Athletic Therapy Certificate program at York University. She is experienced in treating diverse populations due to her work in many different health care settings including varsity at Queens University and private practice clinics, private schools, hospital, and sports teams within the GTA. Sharon is currently Lead Therapist for Canada Soccer’s Ontario Regional Excel Supercentre and Head Therapist for Toronto Nomads Women’s. She uses a manual therapy approach combined with exercise to help patients maintain fit, active, and healthy lifestyles over the course of their lives. Sharon also has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of concussions. She is a Shift Concussion Management trained provider. Following this model, she uses techniques to personalize a plan depending on patient symptoms and needs to address the cervical spine, cognitive, vestibular and visual systems.
